FunkyChunky, Inc. Unveils Its First Funky Candy Bars

San Francisco, CA (Jan. 18, 2010) – FunkyChunky, Inc. featured its four newly-introduced FunkyChunky Candy Bars at the NASFT 2010 Winter Fancy Food Show.

Combining high-quality chocolate with other classic, and sometimes unexpected, ingredients has been the inspiration behind FunkyChunky gourmet treats, including the new candy bars, said Ronni Feuer, founder of FunkyChunky, Inc.

The new FunkyChunky Candy Bars are hand-crafted in small, made-to-order batches and packaged in clear cello bags, tied with a black bow and hang tag, to display the high-quality ingredients. The bars are OU Dairy certified kosher and range from 3.25- to 4-ounces with a suggested retail price of $5. They are available in case packs of 12 bars.

The new FunkyChunky Chocolate Bar takes the kitchen-sink approach of the original FunkyChunky Chocolate, blending milk chocolate with dried berries, graham crackers, pecans, crispy rice and chocolate sandwich cookies. The entire bar is then drizzled with white chocolate.

FunkyChunky Licorice Bar packs dark chocolate with chewy caramel and soft red licorice pieces, then is finished with a white chocolate drizzle.

FunkyChunky Peanut Crunch Bar is jammed with salty, fresh-roasted peanuts and crunchy chocolate puffs smothered in milk chocolate. The bar is topped with drizzles of chocolate and peanut butter confection.

FunkyChunky Graham Cracker Bar melds dark chocolate, fluffy marshmallows and caramel, then tops the combination with a graham cracker drizzled with the trifecta of dark, milk and white chocolates.

“FunkyChunky originally got its name because of the way our chocolate snacks are broken into funky-shaped pieces,” Feuer said. “We created the new bars as an alternative that allows us to indulge those who like a gourmet candy bar, and it also lets us produce new, over-the-top delicious flavor combinations.”

Other products in the FunkyChunky line include FunkyChunky Chocolate Popcorn, FunkyChunky Chocolate Pretzels, FunkyChunky Caramel Corn, FunkyChunky Peanut Butter Pretzels, FunkyChunky Chocolate and the seasonal FunkyChunky Candy Cane.
